FAQ

  • A Garden Designer works with you to develop the blue print of your perfect garden, taking into account your home, lifestyle and surrounding landscape. After agreeing your priorities for the space, a designer will create detailed drawings which detail all elements of your new garden including hard and soft landscaping which can be given to a professional landscaper to build.

My services are design only. This gives you maximum flexibility to choose a landscaper that is best for you, or to choose to build it yourself.

  • No at all! It is really common for people to feel overwhelmed, or unsure where to start when engaging a Garden Designer. A good Garden Designer will expertly guide you through a process where you will get really clear on what is important to you. Using mood boards can be a great way to help you make key decisions, and help you visualise how you want your garden to look.

  • I have information on my services pages which can help you identify what package might be best for. But if you are still unsure why not drop me an email? I am more than happy to go through any questions you may have.

  • I have created a range of services which are designed to ensure you only buy what you need, and within a budget that suits you best. Due to the variation in project size and complexity it is not possible to give a cost without completing a consultation to see your space, and understand your goals. My fees start from £2900, after an initial consultation I will provide you with a quote so that before you go ahead you will know upfront how much your design will cost.

  • Budget is down to personal choice, and will be unique to everyone dependent on their style, goals and available funds. As a very rough guide you can expect to spend around 10% of the value of your home on your garden. It is useful for you to have thought about your available budget when you are hiring a Garden Designer as this will ensure that the designer can take this into account when creating your plans, ensuring you get the best quality and focus your budget where it will make the most impact.

  • The design process can be started any time of the year, and you do not need to build it straight away. Where you have a larger garden, or a smaller budget you can even opt to break the build up into smaller chunks helping you spread the cost, without compromising on the overall design.

Planning ahead is really important when designing your garden, as often designers and landscapers can be booked in advance. Once you have a proposal from me I offer a deposit scheme whereby you can hold a place in my diary for your design work to commence. You can choose to hold my next immediate availability, or if you are having works done to your home or need to delay, we can book a date in advance to make sure your design is done at a time that suits you best.

  • If you haven’t worked with a Garden Designer before it can feel overwhelming. I have created an easy 5 step guide that you can access for free which will help de-mystify this process for you. Access your free guide here.
